The Sunken Chip

Reviewing this place is hard and a little bit painful for me. Because I’ve been following their instagram since 2016 and it has been featured in so many big magazines or newspapers. So, I kinda have high hopes for the food that they are serving. What can go wrong, right?

My husband and I, we love fish ‘n chips. I mean, love it a lot! I have been telling him about this place and how much I wanted to try eating here. Finally, when we went to Paris, the first stop that we’ve made, this place. I was too excited to be here. We saw the menu, and we chose the classic fish ‘n chips.

However, when the food arrived, I was disappointed and a little bit heartbroken. It didn’t lift up my expectation. First of all, I didn’t know that the batter was beer batter. I have malt intolerance so that beer would be a big no no for me. This was my biggest mistake because I didn’t check it first. But still, it didn’t justify the taste. It wasn’t as good as I thought would be. Secondly, the fries were soggy with oil. My husband is one of those people who rarely give a comment or complain about anything. This time he complained. He said this would be the first and the last. I couldn’t agree more for this. I was very sad when I ate my food. I couldn’t finish it anyway because I started to feel numb on my lips.

*sigh*

Oh well, sometimes it can be hit or miss, right?

Comfort food

When I had a bad mood, I need my comfort food. So yesterday when I was doing some transcription for my friend, it got me to the point where I had enough. My mood just dropped and in order to be able to finish my work, I need my comfort food.

Living in the Netherlands is not easy when you missed foods from home and its not easy to find either. luckily, I live in the city where I can find a store that sells the kind of foods I like.

So, if you ask me, what is the food that I craved yesterday. Its nothing fancy actually. I miss Indomie.

This is just an instant noodle. I rarely eat this actually when I was in Indonesia. But somehow, when I’m not there, this is the food that connected me to home.

Its not cheap either here. One pack of this little bugger is around 0,40-0,50 euro. While back home, with that price you can get 4 of those. Hum… I guess they were right, sometimes there were things that you cant put price on it.

I (dont) like tomato

Yesterday, I was still not in the mood of eating something heavy. I kinda lost my appetite these last few days. I can’t really eat. So, I was spoiling myself by went to starbucks for lunch.

I had double decker sandwich and venti cafe latte from Starbucks as my lunch. I’m stuffed, but only somewhat satisfied.

If you asked me, is there food I don’t like? My answer would definetely…. RAW TOMATO!

I just can’t eat raw tomato and their other family members. I mean, I love pasta…and I do eat tomato cos I’m aware that they are good for the body. But, only if they’re cooked and sort invisible to my naked eye. I won’t eat them when they’re raw and chopped or sliced in large bits….

So, I carefully handpicked the tomato from my sandwich (if not obsessively) and put them aside.

Eventhough I managed to get rid off most of the tomato, but apparently there was one small slice hid inside the lettuce. I couldn’t do nothing but cringe when I accidentally bit that evil and sneaky one….

Meh!
